Product Description
Thrombin is a serine protease which recognizes the consensus sequence Leu-Val-Pro-Arg-Gly-Ser where it cleaves the Arg-Gly bond. Thrombin is supplied at a nominal concentration of 500 US units/mL in HEPES buffer (NaCl, HEPES, 0.02% NaN3), 50% glycerol (v/v).
While commercial sources may contain other proteases, Echelon’s Thrombin is highly purified and selectively cleaves affinity tags from recombinant fusion proteins, that have a thrombin cleavage site, reliably and without secondary protease effects.
