Far-red fluorescent dyes offer the advantage of ultra-sensitive detection because background signal due to autofluorescence in most biological samples is minimal in this spectral region. CF?647 has a minimal charge compared to competing fluorescent labeling dyes which gives it a superior signal-to-noise ratio for its antibody conjugates in immunostaining and excellent specificity.
